Meet our leadership team driving FilmPsych's mission forward
Nancy combines her passion for psychology and creative storytelling in order to raise awareness about mental health. She aims to make psychological topics more engaging and accessible through films, art, and educational media. Nancy hopes to inspire empathy, curiosity, and open conversations about mental well-being among youth.
Iris is one of the volunteer coordinators for FilmPsych. She has always been fascinated by the human mind ("yes, unironically I psychoanalyze movie characters for fun"), and she believes that writing can be a powerful way to connect people and break stigma. When she is not coordinating projects or studying for her social psychology midterm, you will probably find her listening to Taylor Swift on repeat, tanning in 11 UV, or stressing about AP scores.

Jayden is passionate about neuroscience and understanding the brain through both a scientific and creative lens. When he's not engaging in scientific research, you'll probably find him playing guitar, going for a run, or playing a game of chess. His dog, Jordan, is always by his side, providing the perfect companion for contemplative walks. He hopes to one day turn his passion for neuroscience into a career as a neuroscientist.
Aimee Pan is a car enthusiast and mom to a very erratic short-hair Siamese kitten. Whether it be spotting engine cats on the road or cats in her house, she'll never miss it.
Delisha is passionate about exploring the connection between psychology and storytelling, particularly in interactive media, literature, and film. She enjoys writing, photography, and examining how artistic representations of mental health are presented. Outside of FilmPsych, Delisha plays the piano in her spare time and maintains a landscape photography account on Instagram.
Adeeba Arshad, writing under the pen name theplatonicwitch, explores the intersections of philosophy, poetry, and emotion in her work. Her debut book, With a Cup of Chai: A Glimpse into My Mind, has been recognized on Amazon. With a background in psychology, Adeeba's writing reflects her ongoing exploration of love, memory, and self-discovery. She is drawn to themes that challenge and inspire, always seeking deeper meaning in the everyday. Her work offers a quiet, introspective space for readers to pause and reflect on their own experiences.
Nafisa is dedicated to empower and advocate through the art of different media forms. Her favorite hobbies include reading, painting and cooking. She is a big fan of k-dramas and indie music artists like Paris Paloma and Chase Atlantic.
Nainika is insanely passionate about both psychology and writing - such as blog articles and poetry. Exploring psychology through the lens of various art mediums is a treat for her, as she loves to overanalyze.
Keya is a Fashion Business and Communication student. You will most likely find her curating Pinterest boards, reading fashion magazines, learning about art history, and drinking coffee 11 out of 10 times. "If I mention more of my interests, I could possibly write a book." Keya specialized in Consumer Psychology and Organisational Psychology and she aims to bring the concepts she learnt to her articles at FilmPsych.
Isabelle enjoys reading, watching Netflix and listening to music during her free time. Currently, she is reading 1984 by George Orwell. She also loves reading articles from local newspapers as well as The New York Times, or sometimes just listens to news on podcasts. She also loves watching different movies and TV series, is halfway through watching Brooklyn 99, and is rewatching Gilmore Girls. She listens to a wide range of music, from R&B to Kpop to classical music (when studying). Other hobbies include writing about things she loves, taking photos with her digicam, folding origami and cooking! When she grows up, she hopes to be a lawyer or a journalist.
Shreyas's interests outside of writing include photography, psychology, teaching, and making bouquets. He has a photography account on Instagram where he showcases his creative work.
Shareen is passionate about psychology, writing, and literature. Her interests allow her to be a part of this organisation and explore psychological concepts in depth along with exploring mental health in art.
Kashaaf Ahmed is a passionate medical student with a strong interest in cardiology and the long-term effects of COVID-19 on heart health. He is deeply committed to improving healthcare systems and addressing inequalities in medical access. Outside of academics, Kashaaf enjoys cooking, especially preparing Pakistani and Japanese dishes.
Joanna hopes to pursue her passion for writing and research while embracing the arts. She's fond of history, especially art history, as she enjoys learning about the people of the past and the beautiful ways in which they conveyed themselves and the world around them. Some of her favorite pasttimes include playing video games, exploring new places, making arts and crafts, and collecting trinkets. Additionally, she has an affinity for deep-diving into theories about her favorite media entertainment with her friends, which is just the reason why she joined FilmPsych. Whenever she feels like idling about, she likes to hang out with her cats.
Makinsey enjoys drawing, painting and listening to music. Her favorite song is Mona Lisa by Dominic Fike. She loves curling up with a good book and sipping her cup of tea. She is currently reading Shatter Me and so far it has indeed shattered her. She also enjoys writing poetry and knitting in her free time.
Rozin plays the drums and has a deep love for music, traveling, and film. She also has a Siamese cat named Mooshi.
Nusaibah is a high school senior who feels truly happy and alive only on weekends and holidays. She loves reading books and is especially passionate about Greek mythology. In her free time, she enjoys painting and listening to music (A true 'The Weeknd' fan). If she's not doing any of those, you can assume that she's napping for sure.
Hadia's hobbies include drawing and listening to educational video essays. She is deeply interested in psychology and enjoys listening to music. Some of her favourite musical artists are wave to earth, beabadoobee and laufey.
Okoh is a passionate storyteller, singer, and creative content enthusiast. He enjoys writing, singing, editing videos, and sharing relatable content through memes and short stories. He is also deeply interested in human emotions, faith, and real-life experiences, often drawing from them to fuel his creativity. He owns and runs 'The Story Flame', a storytelling TikTok page and YouTube channel.
Aadya is a film enthusiast, lost in the magic of storytelling. Lately, she's been exploring psychology as a new passion. She loves editing any piece of media and aims to create a lasting impact on her audience. Fun fact: she runs a BTS fanpage, and one of her reels hit 391k views! She also loves watching her baby pictures and videos. Aadya dreams of making films when she grows up, with small glimpses of that dream already visible in her work at FilmPsych!
Jyothsna's hobbies revolve around crafting, drawing, painting and other artistic activities. Her creative talents and artistic passion contribute to FilmPsych's visual storytelling.
Sochi's love is art and drawing, especially admiring girls' beauty and flowers ( ꈍᴗꈍ). Her artistic passion and attention to beauty brings a unique aesthetic perspective to FilmPsych's visual content.
Drawing has always been a relaxing hobby for Tara, especially in game character design. In her free time, she also enjoys playing the cello and cutting her split ends. Her SSBU choice is indubitably Ike.

Chapters are local student-led branches of FilmPsych that operate in schools or communities. Each chapter spreads awareness about psychology and mental health through blog writing, art workshops, fundraisers, and more. They follow our core mission but have the flexibility to organize their own events, recruit members, and run campaigns that fit their local audience.
Regional Coordinators lead these chapters, serving as a liaison between chapters and the main team. They help with recruiting, onboarding, and checking in with chapters. This is a great leadership opportunity for students passionate about mental health, psychology, and creative media. You'll gain communication, management, and coordination skills.
